Personal Profile
Photography

When I’m not working or studying, I’m often out and about with my camera. I own a Canon 550D Digital SLR and combine that with Photoshop Elements. I’m not massively comfortable taking portraits but landscapes and still life I’m getting good at. I keep an album of my best shots on flickr.
Pure FM – Student Radio
My Final Year Project [at university] was linked in with my role as Head of Internet at the University’s radio station, PURE:FM. In this role I was responsible for managing and maintaining the website and media streams supporting our broadcasts. From February to April 2005 I led a team of three student web-developers in the creation of the station’s website and broadcast systems. The project involved building and installing a Debian Linux based server, setup of the Apache Web Server in a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) configuration and implementation of MP3 encoding and serving using the DarkIce encoder and IceCast media server.
I continue to support the station by offering technical support and general consultancy as part of a Support Team alumni.
